Membership Voting membership is limited to registered U of C students and alumni. Non-voting membership is available to faculty, staff, as well as spouses of students, faculty, or staff. |
Article III

Eligibility Requirements Members must sign the Acceptance of Risk forms and try to attend meetings and participate in activities. |
Article IV
| Section I: Office
Titles President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. Section II: Qualifications Officers must be registered students in the U of C. Section III: Terms of Office Officers' positions will begin Autumn Quarter, and last until the following Spring Quarter. Section IV: Duties of Officers President: Responsible for planning events and communication with the club, as well as dividing responsibilities among other officers. Vice President: Responsible for duties not covered by the president, and will serve as President in his/her absence. Secretary: Maintains minutes during meeting, emailing minutes to members, and keeping organizational records. Treasurer: Will manage all funds associated with the club, and prepares a budget report in conjunction with the President and Vice President. He/She also maintains records of monetary transactions. (At this time, there is no use for a Treasurer, but should need for one arise, the Club will elect someone). Section V: Provisions for selection and replacement of officers Voting members can elect new officers at the end of each academic year. Power will be transferred at the beginning of Autumn Quarter to new officers. Officers may nominate themselves for office or be nominated by other club members. Section VI: Provisions for removal of Officers Voting eligible members may choose to remove an officer from his/her position by voting. An officer who is removed in this manner, may be replaced by a new officer chosen by the voting eligible members. |
Article V
| Section I: Elections All club members who are registered students or alumni may vote. Votes will be conducted at club meetings near the end of Spring Quarter. Proxy votes are allowed if and only if the absent party's name and consent, including signature, is presented in writing at the time of voting. |
Article VI
| Section 1: Handling
of Funds No dues or fees are necessary to become a member of the Club, however, if the payment of fees becomes necessary to enter tournaments or perform other Club activities, the Club will meet to determine how to act. If the Club finds use or need of funds in the future, a Treasurer will be elected accordingly. |
Article VII
| Section I: Amendments This constitution may be amended by a majority vote of the club members. Section II: Notice of Amendment Any vote for the purpose of amending the constitution requires advanced notice of at least one week to all members, voting and nonvoting. |
